Hello.
I'm trying to install MySql on a 64-bit Windows Server 2008.
I downloaded mysql-essential-5.1.50-winx64.msi.exe.
When I run it, I get:
"This version of mysql-essential-5.1.50-winx64.msi.exe is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need a x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."
Is it plausible that the "self-extracting exe" wrapper will only run on a 32-bit machine?
Just for something to try, I launched a 32-bit command shell and tried running it from there. This did not change the result (the more knowledgable among you will no doubt wonder why I thought it might).
Thank you!
