OK, hitting my head now.
I have a Solaris 10 server. Loaded the latest install (5.1.5 ?) it runs.
However I cannot connect with the command line (mysql), when I try to connect with mysql -l root -p I get this as a reply:
Unable to connect to DB: Client does not support authentication protocol
requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client
From what I can tell, that is with the old client (4.1) so that should not be an issue.
I tried to load MySQL Workbench 5.2 on a PC, but cannot connect until I provide access. Does Workbench run on Solaris ? Can I install it on my server and use an X windows interface ?
Tips/pointers/RTFMs appreciated.
Andy
