This dumb Aggie managed to install the 64-bit version of 5.1. (I wonder what dummy forgot to put a compatibility check in the installer) I have found a few articles on uninstalling MySql on OSX and followed them to the letter. Then, I installed the proper version of MySql. Now, when I enter "sudo /Library/StartupItems/MySQLCOM/MySQLCOM start" and enter my password, terminal replies, "Starting MySQL database server." Then, when I enter "/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql", terminal replies: "Bad CPU type in executable." What gives?
