I am trying to get a version of MySQL up and running on my machine and am having issues.

Computer: Windows 7, 64 bit

I have and older version that I have running on my XP 32 bit box, I tried that and issues insued.

I then downloaded:
Community Server 5.150 - win64x
WorkBench - gpl 5.2.28
connector ODBC - 5.17 - win 64x

I installed then in the order above.

Community Server - took defaults, developer machine, multifunctional database
I then start getting errors....

I am just looking to get a database up and running that I can have a couple tables to test from.
I uninstalled and tried again then was asked for an old password and new password when installing Community Server???
What are the proper steps for install?
Am I trying to install the proper files? I will being accing the data through an ODBC Connection so I think that part is right
