Please help!
We are trying to install a piece of client-server software from the biological analysis company Agilent. This software (GenomicWorkbench 6) uses a MySQL database to store data.
The problem we are having is that when the MySQL is running the performance of the PC is very poor. We are running the system on Vista64 with a very high spec PC (twin processors with over 20Gb Ram and twin 1Tb disks) so the machine should be powerful enough to run the software. Also we are finding that the machine blue screens quite regularly. I think we are running version 5 of MySQL.
Can anyone out there offer some suggestions as to what might be the problem here. Is this something others have seen?
Please help as this is beginning to drive me & my colleague crazy! We are not computer/Oracle experts but have been lumbered with the task of getting this to work.
