mysql on NAS (no replies)

I just got a new NAS, BlackArmor 220. I have tried to run mysql from the NAS with no success.
I have mapped a directory on the NAS as a network drive and copied mysql directory to the NAS. I have also updated my.ini to point at the NAS.

I have also tried with only the mysql data directory on the NAS and all the rest back on the PC. Only the datadir was changed to point at the NAS. Also no success.

Is this possible at all?
