Setting datadir on Another Drive (4 replies)

I need to access a SQL database on another hard drive, which cannot be moved. I attempted to change the 'datadir' setting in the my.ini file to this path however when I restart mySQL the change seems to have not taken effect (it still only lists the databases in the default directory).

Is there something else which I need to do?
