Distributing a minimal set of files (no replies)

Hi,
I want to distribute MySQL with my application.
The exploded size for the 5.5 zip (Windows) is almost 700MB.
I want to distribute only a subset of the distribution.
1. Do I really need all the 680 MB for MySQL to function correctly?
1. Is it legally possible to distribute only part of the zip?
2. How can I know what files I can remove from the distribution according to my needs?
