datadir on a different server (no replies)

Hi Guys,

I want to move my default datadir and wondered whether it was possible to point mysql server to a datadir on an alternate server (via ipaddress or nfs or something)? No clue from the docs unfortunately! If anyone knows anything about this, or even whether or not it makes sense to try, then I would be grateful.
