The latest version of the MySQL downloads page takes the gold in the 1000 meter frustration event. It makes no mention of plain client downloads and omits several of the officially supported releases in its over-flashy drop down platform selection. For those of us frustrated and trying to find the missing client or rpm downloads, just use the good old fashioned mirrors page and find a nice FTP mirror. Hopefully Oracle won't go all Metalink and Flash the bejesus out of MySQL downloads page rendering it completely useless.
I just wasted half an hour trying to find a simple client RPM. Please just put a simple link to the mirrors across http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/ instead of that big Windows Installer banner.
