Using MySQL installer I installed the complete developer package a couple of weeks ago. One day I accidentally shut down my laptop while the server was running (battery became disconnected) and when it started it up again I kept getting an error telling me it was unable to connect to the database (this was via the Workbench, but also happened when trying to connect via Netbeans).
I tried reinstalling the whole package but got the same error again. I tried installing everything in a different drive (D:/) but now I'm getting the following error.

This is becoming an annoyance because I need the MySQL server for an important college project and I've been unable to do anything for nearly two weeks because of this.
Help?
