Newbie - trying to get this working on Snow Leopard. I downloaded mysql to work through a book on Ruby and it won't work and I don't know what I'm supposed to do to get it set up. Please someone explain as simply as if to a 5 yr old. Make no assumptions as I'm a beginner :)
The book says to use the command line interface of mysql to do this and to enter:
mysql -u root -p

so do I type that in a Terminal window or do I open another programme to do it?
