Error 0: Cannot Create Windows Service for MySQL (1 reply)

Hi,

I am trying to install MySql Server 5.1 in my Windows XP. Before this instalation I used MySql 5.0.

The problem is that in this current instalation it gives me the following error: Cannot Create Windows Service for MySQL. Error:0

I know that this error, is because other instance of MySql is running in the computer. For that reason, after reading the documentation http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/windows-troubleshooting.html, I have used the Sc delete Mysql command to delete the instance.

I delete the instance successfully. but when I try to install again Mysql, it gives me same error: Error 0: Cannot Create Windows Service for MySQL

I would be very grateful if somebody could help me to solve this error.
