It didn't recognize my password, I tried to reset it, that didn't work and I uninstalled MySQL with these instructions http://forums.mysql.com/read.php?11,392969,393402#msg-393402
That didn't go so well. And when I downloaded the MySQL community server 5.5.8 for my Mac OS X version 10.5.8 (had to use the download for x86, 32-bit) I ended up with another problem.
When I go to system prefs and click on MySQL, I get a window that shows me the MySQL Server Status and a button to Start MYSQL Server.
That button doesn't work anymore.
I can click it, but the MySQL Server Instance is not running.
How do I solve this problem?
My best guess is I need to properly uninstall MySQL.
Can someone please review those instructions and let me know what the input should be, and what kind of output I should expect?
Thank you.
