Hi,
I had a previously working install of MYSQL 5 on my OSX macbook but upgraded to the latest version during the week. Now the server will not start in the preferences pane or at startup. If I use the
sudo /usr/local/mysql/support-files/mysql.server start
in terminal I get
... ERROR! The server quit without updating PID file (/usr/local/mysql/data/MartinsMacBook.local.pid).
I've tried uninstalling MYSQL and reinstalling but it doesnt seem to work (I may not be removing everything I need to though as I'm a bit of a newbie to it)
Am I the only one with this?
