Trying to install mysql (7 replies)

Hey all you mysql experts out there. I just bought a new Samsung laptop with windows 7 and I have been trying to install mysql so I can work on my final project for the mysql class I am taking at college. Anyway, I can't seem to get it up and running...I keep getting a Error message that says..."Connection failed with the following error - Error Nr 1364 - Field authentication-string doesn't have a default value? Anyone know how I can get mysql up and running so I can run some queries against my database?
