Getting problem with Mysql server connection (no replies)

Hi,

I installed MySQL mysql-5.1.38-win32(2) and mysql-gui-tools-5.0-r17-win32 in server machine, Installed mysql-gui-tools-5.0-r17-win32 in client side machine, now i want to get database from server but i got error like "Could not connect to specified instance", please tell me MySQL installed correct or not and help me how to install MySQL in server machine.
